<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">Hi Glenn, </div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">I think researchers and the world at large have been waiting with bated breath for these results or the retrospective review/ case study on social media bans for teenagers in relation to Australias new law. </div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">I think this proves that policymaking, even in the digital age, requires buy-in for grassroots implementation by parents and caregivers. This early evidence shows that platforms must compile a multistakeholder/multi-disciplinary set of policies that give accountability back to people and build capacity for daily decision-making in the home. This approach enforces policy rather than relying only on safeguards and access restrictions. </div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">Teenagers use social media for much more than social communication and legitimate reasons provided to caregivers for bypass on access restrictions could quickly escalate to proposals and negotiations for social use.
