of the Brazil
Chapter since 2018, now in my third (and final) 3-year term, and
a candidate to
be reelected to the Chapters Advisory Council Steering
Committee, of which I am
the current chair since January 2025.</span></p>

Emeritus for
Computer Science and Engineering at UFRGS, in Porto Alegre, one
of the top
Universities in Brazil. I have been very active in the national
and
international Internet Governance ecosystem for more than 15
years, in
particular in the IGF and ICANN spaces. I was a Board member of
CGI.br, the
Brazilian Internet Steering Committee, for three terms, and a
Board member of
NIC.br, the Brazilian Network Information Center, for two terms.
I am currently
a member of the MAG, the IGF Multistakeholder Advisory Group,
and I also served
in the MAG from 2015 to 2017. I am currently a member of the
Executive
Committee of IGFSA, the IGF Support Association, which supports
both the global
IGF and many NRIs (national, regional, sub-regional and youth
IGFs). Since 2017
I am the permanent chair of the Programme Committee of the
Brazilian IGF. I was
very active in the organization of the two NETmundial events. </span></p>

It is my firm belief that chapters need to be much more involved
in discussing
ISOC priorities, positions, programs and action plans. The ChAC
must promote a
structured dialogue between the chapters regarding those

activities between the chapters, so that they learn from each

develop a very broad
and strong set of technical, educational and public
policy-related activities
in various dimensions, covering many relevant topics, such as

networks and meaningful connectivity, encryption, and
intermediary liability.
In these activities, we managed to include dozens of our Chapter
members in
very active roles. We built a solid relationship with the ISOC
staff and
contributed to many ISOC initiatives, such as the Internet
Impact Assessment
Toolkit, the Framework on Intermediary Liability, and the recent
Policy Brief
on Age Verification and Online Safety. I am using this
experience to help build
better connections between the ChAC and the ISOC Board of
Trustees and senior staff.</span></p>

Profesor
Emérito de Informática en la UFRGS, en Porto Alegre, una de las
mejores
universidades de Brasil. He sido muy activo en el ecosistema
nacional e
internacional de la Gobernanza de Internet durante más de 15
años, en
particular en los espacios IGF e ICANN. Fui miembro de la Junta
de CGI.br, el
Comité Gestor de Internet en Brasil, durante tres mandatos, y
miembro de la
Junta de NIC.br, el Network Information Center de Brasil,
durante dos mandatos.
Actualmente soy miembro del MAG, el Multistakeholder Advisory
Group del IGF, y
también formé parte del MAG entre 2015 y 2017. Actualmente soy
miembro del
Comité Ejecutivo de IGFSA (IGF Support Association), que apoya
tanto al IGF
global como a muchos NRIs (IGFs nacionales, regionales,
subregionales y Youth).
Desde 2017 soy el coordinador permanente del Comité de Programa
del IGF brasileño.

ISOC
Brasil, desarrollamos un conjunto muy amplio y sólido de
actividades técnicas,
educativas y relacionadas con las políticas públicas en varias
dimensiones, que
abarcan muchos temas relevantes, como las redes comunitarias y
la conectividad
significativa, el cifrado y la responsabilidad de los
intermediarios. En estas
actividades, conseguimos incluir a docenas de miembros de
nuestro Capítulo en
funciones muy activas. Construimos una sólida relación con el
personal de ISOC
y contribuimos a muchas iniciativas de ISOC, como el Internet
Impact Assessment
Toolkit, el marco sobre responsabilidad de intermediários y el
reciente informe
de políticas sobre la verificación de la edad y la seguridad en
línea. Estoy
aprovechando esta experiencia para ayudar a establecer mejores
conexiones entre
el ChAC y el Board of Trustees y el personal superior de ISOC.</span></p>

Émérite d'Informatique à l'UFRGS, à Porto Alegre, l'une des
meilleures
universités du Brésil. Je suis très actif dans l'écosystème
national et
international de la Gouvernance de l'Internet depuis plus de 15
ans, en
particulier dans les espaces de l'IGF et de l'ICANN. J'ai été
membre du conseil
d'administration de CGI.br, le comité brésilien de gestion de <span
style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>l'Internet, pendant trois
mandats, et membre
du conseil d'administration de NIC.br, le Network Information
Center brésilien,
pendant deux mandats. Je suis actuellement membre du MAG, le
groupe consultatif
multipartite de l'IGF, et j'ai également siégé au MAG de 2015 à
2017. Je suis
actuellement membre du comité exécutif de l'IGFSA (IGF Support
Association), qui
soutient à la fois l'IGF mondial et de nombreux NRIs (IGF
nationaux, régionaux,
sous-régionaux et Youth). Depuis 2017, je suis le coordinateur
permanent du
comité de programme de l’IGF brésilien. J'ai été très actif dans
l'organisation
des deux événements NETmundial. </span></p>

transmettre les
contributions importantes des chapitres au Board of Trustees et
aux cadres
supérieurs de l'ISOC.</span></p>

collaboration
dans diverses dimensions.</span></p>

l'ISOC
Brésil, nous développons un ensemble très large et solide
d'activités techniques,
éducatives et liées aux politiques publiques em plusieurs
dimensions, couvrant
de nombreux sujets pertinents, tels que les réseaux
communautaires et la
connectivité significative, le cryptage et la responsabilité des
intermédiaires.
Dans ces activités, nous avons réussi à inclure des dizaines de
membres de
notre chapitre dans des rôles très actifs. Nous avons établi une
relation
solide avec le personnel de l'ISOC et contribué à de nombreuses
initiatives de
l'ISOC, telles que l’Internet Impact Assessment Toolkit, le
cadre sur la
responsabilité des intermédiaires, et la récente note
d'orientation sur la
vérification de l'âge et la sécurité en ligne. Je mets à profit
cette
expérience pour aider à établir de meilleures connexions entre
le ChAC et le Board
of Trustees de l'ISOC ainsi que le personnel de direction.</span></p>
