<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Hind Light"">I hope you’re doing great. After the adoption of the Global Digital Compact (GDC) in September 2024, the UN Office of the Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology (OSET) announced that
the <a href="https://www.un.org/global-digital-compact/en" title="https://www.un.org/global-digital-compact/en">Compact is open to all stakeholders for endorsement</a>. Earlier this year, the office transitioned into the UN Office for Digital and Emerging
Technologies (<a href="https://www.un.org/techenvoy/content/press-release-new-un-office-digital-and-emerging-technologies">ODET</a>). They also shared the <a href="https://www.un.org/global-digital-compact/en/endorsements" title="https://www.un.org/global-digital-compact/en/endorsements">endorsement
list</a> as of 31 December 2024.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Hind Light""><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Hind Light"">In November 2024, we
<a href="https://www.internetsociety.org/issues/internet-governance/news-updates/global-digital-compact-endorsement/">
published a brief analysis</a> regarding how we understand the endorsement opportunity. After careful consideration, the Internet Society
<a href="https://www.internetsociety.org/issues/internet-governance/news-updates/gdc-endorsement-decision/">
has decided not to endorse the GDC</a>. As the endorsement and the implementation have been decoupled, we await details regarding its implementation, particularly in reference to areas where it aligns with our mission and ongoing work.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
