Considering how much one could save with logistics, maybe doing a short survey related to what events in 2024/2025 chapter leaders will be the most present at and trying to create an opportunity for a hybrid Chapters reunion right before or after the larger event would work well. If it is in their interest, ChAC could have a central role in this. It seems interesting to also elaborate a position document as a result - if that sounds good to others, I'd suggest having a methodology similar to what already happens in other summits and working groups: most of the substantial work (definitions of common agendas and concerns, etc.) would be made a few months before the actual meeting (focusing on finalizing and confirming the text), so we could then present it publicly.

Cordially,

<span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif">Pedro de Perdigão Lana

<span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif">Lawyer, <span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif"><span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif"><span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif">GEDAI/UFPR Researcher

<span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif">PhD Candidate (UFPR), LLM in Business Law (UCoimbra)<span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif"><span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif">

<span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif"><span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif">

<span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif">Board Member @ CC Brasil, <span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif"><span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif">ISOC BR and IODA

<span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif">

<span style="font-family:garamond,"times new roman",serif">This message is restricted to the sender and recipient(s).
Dear Members and Friends of ISOC,

During the last months, we have read many stories about the tools we need to build a better Internet for everyone, not just the software and resources but policies that may future shape the organizations and regions. Some discussions are happening at a national or regional level, others organized by the staff that we interact with. However, most is happening in the email lists as we have been precluded of meeting physically for long time. As a member of ISOC, I would, respectfully, like to make a call to our 120+ chapters to collectively think about how we can organize in the short term a discussion about the issues that we face to fulfill our mission -global, regional or national. Not a meeting organized and conducted by Staff, not within another organizations’ event, but by the Chapters and their leadership with open participation. It may be an utopia but we know that we are well capable of do it.

Sincerely,
