I have not been active at the global level in ISOC for a long time and I was honestly surprised that so many people remembered me and were willing to support. It was a honor to be encouraged and selected by the Nominating Committee and to participate in this election. I hope that there will be other opportunities in the future.</p>

<div><br />On behalf of the Internet Society Elections Committee, I wish to extend my appreciation and thanks to all of the candidates for the Board of Trustees elections. We are honored that so many qualified individuals offered to serve on the Board. Voting closed on Friday and the election results were certified today, in accordance with the elections timetable.<br /><br />CHAPTERS<br />In the Chapters election there were three (3) candidates for one (1) seat. </div>
<div>Having received the most votes, Charles Mok has been elected to a 3-year term as trustee.<br /><br />ORGANIZATION MEMBERS<br />In the Organization Members election there were five (5) candidates for two (2) seats. </div>
<div>Having received the highest weighted vote counts, Sagarika Wickramasekera and Barry Leiba have been elected to 3-year terms as trustees.<br /><br />Voter turn-out in the Chapters election was 76%. Of the 125 eligible chapters, 95 voted. </div>
<div>Voter turn-out in the Organization Members election was 72%. Of the 86 eligible Organization Members, 62 voted.<br /><br />Please join me in congratulating the successful candidates and thanking all who ran. I also wish to thank all voters, members of the Elections Committee, and ISOC staff who supported the elections process.<br /><br />Election challenges may be lodged between now and 15:00 UTC on April 18 by email to the President of the Internet Society, Andrew Sullivan at the address <a href="mailto:election-challenge@isoc.org" rel="noreferrer">election-challenge@isoc.org</a>. Any such challenges must include an explanation of the reasons for the challenge.
