Dear Christine,<br>
<br>
thank you for your kind response.<br>
I feel I must express my concern, quoting your email of 30th July
2020:<br>
<br>
<i><font color="#0000ff">This is a heads-up that you will see some
changes to the Chapter Portal (AMS) as of tomorrow, 30 July,
when our vendor is deploying a new release of the system. <br
class="">
<br class="">
The changes will address some requests that we received
from Chapters over time, and will also make some of the labels
more self-explanatory. <br class="">
<br class="">
This is the first step in a series of adjustments that will
be rolled-out over the next few months. <br class="">
<br class="">
Here a quick summary of where you’ll see the changes after
30 July: <br class="">
<br class="">
1) Bulk selections of member records will now be possible,
also if the list that is being viewed is spread over several
pages<br class="">
<br class="">
2) An improvement will be made to the ‘Select All’
checkbox. There will be a drop down you can select to either
choose ‘Current page’ to select the current page of members or
‘Select all records’ to select all of the members on each page.
The number of records selected will display.<br class="">
<br class="">
3) Some labels on the subscription pages have new names,
such as: The function “Extend” will now be called “Extend
(Current Term)” and the function “Reactivate” will be called
“Reactivate (Undo Cancellation)”.<br class="">
<br class="">
4) Bulk actions will require additional ‘Heavy
Confirmation’. The required action will have to be confirmed by
the person requesting the bulk action to avoid accidental
"bulk terminations" of members. <br class="">
<br class="">
5) There will be a new "Page by Page” functionality
when navigating lists. It will be much easier to navigate from
one page to another. In the past, the only choices available
were "Previous" and "Next".<br class="">
<br class="">
You will also see these adjustments reflected in the
Chapter Officer User Guide that you can find in the Chapter
Portal (AMS) under the Quicklinks. </font></i><br>
<br>
<br>
a. Has the new AMS system been deployed, as per your announcement?<br>
b. Please be so kind to let us know, regarding point 1 to 5, each in
turn, if each has been deployed in this release? If no, then why
not, as to my knowledge, there was a consensus and an announcement
that this was to be rolled out ASAP.<br>
<br>
The announcement was made 2.5 months ago.<br>
<br>
Kindest regards,<br>
<br>
Olivier<br>

<div class="">Dear Klaus, dear all, <br class="">
<br class="">
Here a quick update on where this work is: <br class="">
<br class="">
There were two calls in March this year to which all Chapter
leaders interested in discussing challenges they’re facing with
our Membership and Chapter Portal (AMS/MemberNova) were invited.
The result of these calls was a list of items that we then
internally categorised into buckets to prioritise them by level
of impact, but also by level of effort to make changes to any
given functionality. </div>
<div class=""><br class="">
Based on this, we then invited Chapter leaders interested in
further supporting us as we work through that list to join a
“AMS Chapter/SIG Leader Working Group”. This group is important
to have as we want to ensure that the solutions identified are
as useful as possible to you as Chapter leaders. Some of the
items raised needed further input in terms of what exactly the
ideal functioning would be, but also in terms of what the
concrete situations are that are faced by a majority of our
Chapters across the globe. <br class="">
<br class="">
In the meantime, our team continued working on the items on the
list and reached out to some of you individually to gather
further requirements. <br class="">
<br class="">
We then convened another call with the working group on 30 July
to give an update on the current status of that work. <br
class="">
<br class="">
During that call, we reviewed the following: <br class="">
<br class="">
<b class="">Items already completed:</b><br class="">
<div class="">
<ul class="">
<li class="">Save for Later feature on Funding program
applications</li>
<li class="">Additional accessibility features to be more
compatible with screen readers</li>
<li class="">We ensured that for Member applications that
were designated with a new status, the email notification
of that change was actually sent to the Member under the
Privacy Statement Agreement guidelines vs. not being sent
because they did not opt-in to receiving emails, etc. </li>
</ul>
</div>
<b class="">Items in progress, but on hold because there are
dependencies: </b><br class="">
<div class="">
<ul class="">
<li class="">Items linked to data privacy and GDPR. The good
news is that with our new General Counsel on board,
this work can be launched with an in-depth review and
comprehensive approach. </li>
<li class="">Automated way to transfer Member Data: this
assessment was started with the Germany Chapter to gather
the requirements, but it is also dependent on the review
of our Data Privacy Guidelines and GDPR. </li>
</ul>
</div>
<b class="">Items that were not started yet at the time of the
30 July call, but that we’re now working on with
the MemberNova team.</b> </div>
<div class="">This bucket includes enhancement linked to the:<br
class="">
<div class="">
<ul class="">
<li class="">Member Join and Member application management
processes: </li>
<ul class="">
<li class="">This aspect will need some additional data
gathering, such as what the type of
additional information is that Chapters would like to
give to potential new applicants before they hit the
“Join a Chapter” button (such as info about a membership
fee, working language of the Chapter, content of a
custom e-mail for interested Chapters, etc.)</li>
</ul>
<li class="">Workflow for a member to leave a Chapter</li>
<li class="">Improved member listing (search to display
Chapter join date)</li>
<li class="">Updated Smart Search to display which members
opted-in to receiving e-mail communications and which ones
did not</li>
</ul>
</div>
The timeline for the enhancements of this last bucket is that
they’re rolled out within the next two months. <br class="">
<br class="">
Those of you interested in joining the “AMS Chapter/SIG Leader
Working Group” at this stage, please send me an e-mail to <a
href="mailto:saegesser@isoc.org" class=""
moz-do-not-send="true">saegesser@isoc.org</a> and we'll add
you to that list. <br class="">
<br class="">
I hope this answers your questions and look forward to
continuing this work with you all. <br class="">
<br class="">
Best, <br class="">

Dear Christine, Colleagues,<br class="">
<br class="">
is there any progress since then? There were a lot more
(important) requirements on the table after the respective
meetings that started in March 2020. You wrote: "Please watch
out for further announcements over the coming weeks and months
as we continue to work through the list that was compiled with
your help." Did I miss this?<br class="">
<br class="">
Given the work that was invested to specify the requirements, at
least a resolution on what will be accepted and what will be
declined would be fair.<br class="">

As you probably remember, we’ve also had a series of calls
with those of you interested earlier this year to compile a
list of Chapter Portal (AMS) challenges that we have then
worked on over the last few months. We have a check-in call
with those who were interested in being part of a “MemberNova
working group" later this week. Please watch out for further
announcements over the coming weeks and months as we continue
to work through the list that was compiled with your help. <br
