The general assembly of ISOC Portugal took place on February 25th. The following board members were elected:<br>
<br>
José Legatheaux, president<br>
Henrique Domingos, treasurer<br>
Rogério Reis, secretary<br>
<br>
It was also decided that a member can only be elected twice for periods of 2 years, instead of twice for periods of 3 years, as it was before.<br>

This election followed a complicated process that lasted about 2 months. The elected officials were the only candidates that ran for office at the end of the process. At the beginning, two candidate lists showed up. <br>
<br>
If possible, we will try to share lessons with the chapters community on the following issues:<br>
- Can a chapter live without a specific elections regulation?<br>
- What are the obligations and rights of the members of the chapter when the chapter membership does not even require the payment of annual fees?<br>
- to be a member, to be able to vote, and to be elected, a member just has to join the chapter, as if he or she was subscribing to a mailing list, some days before the election takes place?<br>
<br>
You only have to know the answer to these questions when something nasty arises. I recommend you to have clear and realistic answers to them before that moment :-)<br>
