          <div>The general assembly of ISOC Portugal took place on
            February 25th. The following board members were elected:</div>
          <div><br>
          </div>
          <div>José Legatheaux, president</div>
          <div>Henrique Domingos, treasurer</div>
          <div>Rogério Reis, secretary</div>
          <div><br>
          </div>
          <div>It was also decided that a member can only be elected
            twice for periods of 2 years, instead of twice for periods
            of 3 years, as it was before.</div>

          </div>
          <div>This election followed a complicated process that lasted
            about 2 months. The elected officials were the only
            candidates that ran for office at the end of the process. At
            the beginning, two candidate lists showed up. </div>

          </div>
          <div>If possible, we will try to share lessons with the
            chapters community on the following issues:</div>
          <div>- Can a chapter live without a specific elections
            regulation?</div>
          <div>- What are the obligations and rights of the members of
            the chapter when the chapter membership does not even
            require the payment of annual fees?</div>
          <div>- to be a member, to be able to vote, and to be elected,
            a member just has to join the chapter, as if he or she was
            subscribing to a mailing list, some days before the election
            takes place?</div>

          </div>
          <div>You only have to know the answer to these questions when
            something nasty arises. I recommend you to have clear and
            realistic answers to them before that moment :-)</div>
