<p>I agree completely with Vint and Veni Steve Crocker is an
amazing person and much more than<font face="Helvetica, Arial,
sans-serif"> his academic and technological achievements. I
recall how welcoming he was the first time I met him at an IGF
event and how he then invited everyone out for drinks
afterwards. He enjoyed spending time with others and passing on
his pearls of wisdom to people just starting out on internet
governance issues. I too have a huge amount of</font><font
face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif"> respect and appreciation
for everything he has accomplished and will continue to
accomplish<br>

protocol development in the ARPANET project while still a
graduate student at UCLA. He founded the network working group
which one could argue is the predecessor to today's IETF. He
initiated the RFC series. And he has served at ICANN as the
inaugural chair of the SSAC and now, of course, as chairman of
the board. A truly remarkable record and one worthy of our
admiration and appreciation.
