I have never heard of any person taking over a chapter and running it against the wishes of the membership for decades at a time. Therer is no evidence forcing reliable dedicated organisers out of office merely because they have been there for a number of years improves anything. I note the British Computer Society’s Internet Specialist Group has been run by the same chairman for 20 years, and is the most active and dynamic group they have. If someone is dedicated to the chapter, is actively devoting personal time to making it a success, is being repeatedly re-elected to office by the members, what greater benefit is achieved by forcing them out?<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'>On the other hand, I know that many chapters struggle to get enough active members to do anything at all.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'>Regards,<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'>Brandt Dainow<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'><a href="mailto:brandt.dainow@gmail.com">brandt.dainow@gmail.com</a><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'><a href="https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Brandt_Dainow">https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Brandt_Dainow</a><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'><a href="http://www.imediaconnection.com/profiles/brandt.dainow">http://www.imediaconnection.com/profiles/brandt.dainow</a><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><span lang=EN-US style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif"'>From:</span></b><span lang=EN-US style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif"'> Chapter-delegates [mailto:chapter-delegates-bounces@elists.isoc.org] <b>On Behalf Of </b>Glenn McKnight<br><b>Sent:</b> 01 August 2017 16:01<br><b>To:</b> Joly MacFie<br><b>Cc:</b> chapter-delegates@elists.isoc.org<br><b>Subject:</b> Re: [Chapter-delegates] Revised Chapter Agreement<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><div><p class=MsoNormal>Hi All<o:p></o:p></p><div><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal>Joly is pointing out an issue that has plagued some chapters which is the perpetual leadership issue.
