<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small">Dear Delegates,<div><br></div><div>Internet Society Bangladesh Dhaka Chapter (<a href="http://www.isoc.org.bd/dhaka/" target="_blank">http://www.isoc.org.bd/dhaka/</a>)
is delighted  to know that ISOC (global) is organizing an ION event in
Dhaka, Bangladesh in collaboration with BdNOG. This is indeed a great
initiative in raising awareness, capacity building and, overall,
carrying forward ISOC's mission in Bangladesh. </div><div><br></div><div>We only learnt about this event from ISOC360 website when one of our members visited <a href="http://www.internetsociety.org/deploy360/ion/bangladesh2016/" target="_blank">http://www.internetsociety.org/deploy360/ion/bangladesh2016/</a>.
However, since there have been no prior communication from ISOC
(global) with the chapter about this event we could not respond to our
members query about the chapter's role in this event. As such, we felt
bit uncomfortable. Our chapter is fairly new (since 2011) and we are yet
to learn how ISOC (global) works with chapter in organizing local
events. Is it usual that the local chapter is not informed before doing a
local event with another local entity? we thought it could have been a
great way to strengthen a very active chapter like ours if we were given
the opportunity to work in collaboration or even mentioned!. </div><div><br></div><div>We
are concerned thinking that  a very active and highly enthusiastic
local chapter has very little value/importance to ISOC (global) in
advancing ISOC's mission in Bangladesh. Our members are also beginning
to wonder how well the local chapter is connected with ISOC (global).</div></div><br><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small"><span dir="ltr" style="text-align:left" id=":5a.co" class="">We would like to hear about other chapter's opinion about  this.</span></div><br><br><br><div class="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div><i><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif">Regards /<div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small;display:inline"><b></b></div><b><br>Jahangir</b></span></i><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small;display:inline"><b> Hossain</b><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small;display:inline">On be half of <br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small;display:inline">ISOC Bangladesh Dhaka Chapter<br><a href="http://www.isoc.org.bd/dhaka/">http://www.isoc.org.bd/dhaka/</a></div><br></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>
