Excellent comments.  I agree with most of them, especially the
Global INET events. The London event was the closest possible but
the Global INET was much better, was over a few days and I felt it
was more focused and the discussions were far superior.<br>

        <div>Hi Glenn,</div>
        <div>I share your curiosity.</div>
<div>I've made the same observation during the two last Remote
Hub of ICANN meetings. It comes out that over 85% of
applications for the ICANN Remote Hub meetings are ISOC
          Chapters.</div>
<div>With this, I made this reflection, which may not be
          entirely true:</div>
<div>- May be the  Nomcom of ICANN trusted too much ISOC
          Chapters.</div>
<div>- May be the ISOC Chapters have the best profiles that the
          ICANN NomCom looks for.</div>
<div>-  May be ICANN has more attractive activities that attract
           ISOC chapters.</div>
<div>- May be the ISOC Chapters do not always have the priority
in the selection of candidates in the ISOC programs (Community
          grants, IETF fellowships, etc).</div>
<div>- May be ISOC poorly uses its chapters, therefore, the more
dynamics run away to be connected to  the  ICANN programs,
which offers multiple activities open to the general public
like: Working Groups, CROPP, Fellowships, etc.</div>
<div>- Ultimately maybe ISOC is working to qualify the actors of
          ICANN and other Internet organizations.</div>
<div>- But at the end of the day, and at the End User point of
view, all of this is in favor of achieving the goal of "The
          Internet is for every one".</div>
<div>- And finally I ask myself, why not reconsider the ISOC
Global INET event, and keep it annually, for capitalizing the
          resources of the ISOC chapters?</div>
