We are honoured that such well-qualified individuals offered to serve on the Internet Society Board. The election results were certified today, 2 May, according to the elections timetable.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>CHAPTERS<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>In the chapters election we had three candidates for two open Trustee seats. Hans Peter Dittler and Gihan Dias received the highest number of votes.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>ORGANISATIONS<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>In the Organisation membership election there were three candidates for one Trustee seat. Hiroshi Esaki received the largest weighted vote count.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>It may be of further interest that in the 2014 Election, 74 out of 100 Chapters voted, or 74% and 87 out of 150 Organisation Members voted, which makes it for <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>58% of participation. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>We now move into the challenge period. Challenges can be lodged between now and 21:00 UTC on Wednesday, 7 May 2014, by email to the President of the Internet Society, Kathy Brown at: <a href="mailto:brown@isoc.org">brown@isoc.org</a>. Any such challenges must be addressed to the President of the Society with a recital of the reasons for the challenge.
