I was elected as a petition candidate for my second term on the
Board of Trustees.
However, on the more general question, I would be seriously worried
if ALL chapters vote in the elections, as this reminds me of
communism. It's OK if some chapters decide not to vote. What may be
good, is to go and check why they didn't vote. This could be done by
the chapters support staffers, who know the chapters, and can do
that discreetly. In some cases, it may be due to lack of candidates,
and then we could inform them how to put their own candidate. In
other, the chapters may not be very active, and might need some help
to "re"-activate themselves. And in some rare cases, the chapter may
have stopped functioning, but that still needs to be addressed.

I see this discussion as a positive one, because it included a lot
of people, and we heard different opinions. I am hopeful that the
ISOC HQ leadership would take this as a task, and move on?
I hope you didn't interpret
my email asking Chapters to
vote as interfering

thinking is that it's
important for as many
chapters as possible to vote
in the Board election.
Personally, I find it
troubling that only half of
the chapters (and similar
turnout for org members)
choose to vote. Hopefully,
the turnout will be higher
this year.
