<div dir="ltr"><br>This is under way. Of all the conferences ISOC is involved in AfPIF is probably the most valuable and interesting. At last year's event the AU and ISOC announced <a href="http://www.internetsociety.org/events/workshops/axis-project-and-axis-workshops" target="_blank">the AXIS Project</a> to set up an IXP in every African country. Currently much local African Internet traffic passes through external IXPs. The aim of AfPIF is to foster understanding and communication between policymakers and technical experts on the whole topic of peering. Even for us outside the continent, it can be highly illuminating to learn more about this esoteric but key aspect of the Internet's architecture. The event webcast runs the next three days. Quality is not HD but it's quite watchable.<br>
