In the face of so many challenges (including our own tremendous growth) we all maintained an unwavering focus on our principles, values, and our mission.<br><br>ISOC is in a very good position. We are strong financially; we have extremely knowledgeable and well-respected staff, Members and Chapters; and a highly engaged Board. We continue to strengthen the Internet Society's position as a leader and advocate effectively globally and locally on behalf of an open, global Internet. It is because I am so confident that the Internet Society is well positioned for the future that I decided to take this step.<br><br>I recognize this is an important transition for ISOC. Hence, I am giving a full year's notice, and I will be fully engaged in advancing the Internet Society’s mission during this transition phase.<br><br>The ISOC Board will engage a search company in the coming months. The search will be led by the Board, and I will work closely with them to ensure a seamless transition. In the meantime, I will be fully dedicated to ISOC and to our collective success, so please expect this of me, and count on it.<br><br>My time at ISOC has been extremely exciting and rewarding (from my very first day), and I expect it will be right up to my last day. But that is nearly a year away. In the meantime, it is a critical time for the Internet.
