Our Staff, though diminished, has continued to work hard on behalf of chapters and chapter members. Nevertheless, tactical and strategic planning, leading the tools development and moving chapter issues to the forefront of Internet Society business, has fallen to me, with progressive but incomplete results.

I am very pleased to announce the we have selected a new Director of Chapter Development and Support. Her name is Joyce Dogniez. She is Belgian, lives in Luxembourg and speaks five languages. For the last 8 years Joyce has worked for Meeting Planners International successively as the Manager for European Chapters, Director of Operations for EMEA, Global Director of Training and Director of Development. She is an ardent believer in the value of Chapters and has deep knowledge of individual chapter challenges regarding funding, administration, project management and communication. I am very enthusiastic regarding Joyce's ability to listen, her instinctive win-win approach to problem resolution and her superior communication skills. It is my hope in the coming weeks and months that you come to know Joyce as a true supporter of chapter endeavors and their unique ability to contribute to the success of the mission of the Internet Society.
