Dear Ann.

This is sad news to me. I dont know how to take it. I still fondly remember our meeting at the Geneva Global INET, especially the dinner on the last day. Although it was our first time to meet, you made it appear as if we had known each other for a long time, and this made me feel more at home in ISOC. What I would say is that your, support, encouragement and guidance helped first-track recognition of our Kenya Chapter. We had even talked of inviting you to our official chapter launch/celebration, later this year.
Please just take a short break and come back as you have said. With your qualities, we still need you.

Charles Oloo
ISOC Kenya Chapter

On Fri, Jun 8, 2012 at 2:32 AM, Anne Lord <lord@isoc.org> wrote:
I am writing to let you know that I have resigned from ISOC effective July 13th. I've decided to take a year long career break. I need to prepare with my partner for a move to Europe in 2013 for work and to be closer to my parents. Along the way, we will also enjoy some time off travelling.
Truly, it has been a real pleasure to work with this community over the last 6 years. Yes, it has been challenging at times, but for sure it was never dull! :).
Chapters rock! What a wonderfully unique, talented and diverse network of people from all over the world! You do great things, and I am always inspired and in awe of what is achieved. I have made lots of new friends and it has been a privilege to support you and give strength to your voice. There is still plenty of "work in progress" to help the support the Chapters. I am happy to leave you in the very capable hands of the Chapter Support team, Ted Mooney and the Regional Bureau Directors.
I will most definitely miss working with you all and look forward to being able to do so again at some point in the future. If anyone would like to stay in touch, please contact me off list for my private email address.

Wishing you all the very best in health, happiness and of course, for lots of success in your Chapter :)

Best wishes,
