depuis décembre 2009, L’Isoc (Internet Society) annonce avoir fait don 
au W3C de 1 million de dollars. Cette somme correspond au dernier 
versement de l’organisme au consortium de standardisation, qui <a href="http://www.lemagit.fr/article/internet-standards-w3c-financement-isoc-berners-lee/5095/1/le-w3c-recoit-millions-dollars-isoc-pour-muscler-son-organisation/">se monte au total à 2,5 millions de dollars </a>(répartis
 sur 3 ans). Il y a deux ans, l’Isoc avait décidé d’épauler 
financièrement de W3C afin que celui-ci puisse modifier sa structure 
organisationnelle. Avec pour objectif de se rapprocher des développeurs 
et des entreprises <br><br>Fort de cet apport - et alors que la pression
 sur les développements autour de HTML 5 se faisait toujours plus 
ressentir - , le W3C annonce en août 2011 une traduction de cette 
stratégie avec la création des Community et Business Group, deux 
plate-formes censées ouvrir les portes de la standardisation aux 
développeurs Web extérieurs (pour le premier) et adresser les besoins 
métiers (pour la seconde). Selon le W3C, quelque 50 groupes, tant 
Business que Community, ont été créés ou soumis en 4 mois. <br><br>Ce 
financement devrait ainsi contribuer à affiner l’organisation du 
consortium pour accélérer l’évolution des standards du Web - également 
liés à la mobilité. Il devrait stabiliser la situation financière du 
consortium, qui aurait, selon certaines sources qui souhaitent conserver
 l’anonymat, été mise à mal lors de la séparation des activités XHTML et
