He later graduated from MIT. He is best known as the co-author of VisiCalc - the spreadsheet program that was the original killer app that sold a million Apple II's. This has led to many awards. Working for Microsoft in the 90s Frankston was very much responsible for the integration of Internet functionality into the Windows operating system, thus jumpstarting popular adoption of the network. In recent years, Frankston has been an outspoken advocate for reducing the role of telecommunications companies in the evolution of the Internet. He has coined the term "Regulatorium" to describe what he considers collusion between telecommunication companies and their regulators that prevents change. (Bio)
