Can you share with all some of the criteria that will ensure that users are represented through the chapters?

-ed

On Fri, Jan 28, 2011 at 5:03 PM, Carlos Vera <cveraq@gmail.com> wrote:
2. Not a rigid structure is possible. Even in some situations in the same chapter, depending on the status of things, one structure can be applicable or not in one period of time. So this have to be flexible enough.
3. What works works, what not has to be changed. So there must be some evaluation criteria in chapters so they can evaluate their job, progress, the needs and ways to provide solutions.
4. We must provide some criteria to ensure users are represented and with an specific weight on ISOC Chapters. It seems to be the best way to ensure their needs are considered.
Carlos:

In Puerto Rico we have tried to keep a balance in our Board. Having different points of views, i.e from government, business, academia and individuals has been very healthy for our discussions and as result the chapter is stronger and more encompassing of the Internet Community here. This has motivated people from all sort of economic sectors to join our membership.

However, I am not saying that this is the perfect recipe for the rest of the world. Culture, history and country geographical shape will have a different outcome. We just have to look around other chapters. I think that is one of the beauties of being part of a global society. We are all different. In the case of Panama (and this goes for all chapters including ours), time will tell what works and what doesn't.

Un abrazo.

-ed

On Fri, Jan 28, 2011 at 10:35 AM, <cveraq@gmail.com> wrote:
That'a why I always propose ISOC is not for governments they are political oriented, nor for enterprises they are commercial oriented but for users they are rights oriented.

I use to ask some similar question regarding the panama application I guess (not users representing the proposal) but no answer was given in list
