What real implication on chapter level by obtaining such status ?<br>
In another hand as Chapters are almost all of them established national
organizations since many years now and are also eligible to apply for
the same status. What will be the good strategy that we should put in
place ? could we encourage chapters to apply ? or this will be up to
the chapter leaders ?<br>

We had applied for this status in 2007 and our accreditation was

by ECOSOC

organization the opportunity to become an even more important player on

agencies in

<st1:placetype u5:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">States</st1:placetype></st1:placetype></st1:placename></st1:place>

the United Nations system. ECOSOC is responsible for promoting higher
standards
of living, full employment, and economic and social progress;
identifying
solutions to international economic, social and health problems;
facilitating
international cultural and educational cooperation; and encouraging
universal
respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. NGOs that are
formally
recognized with consultative status are entitled to accreditation which
allows
them to participate in relevant United Nations conferences and
preparatory meetings.
