looks like we have the same challenges of having prospective chapter
members join ISOC global. I have a detailed page on how to become a
chapter
member <a moz-do-not-send="true" href="http://www.sfbayisoc.org/join"

As do we Zaid, a little older but now updated.

So, in fact, http://www.isoc.org/join/
already works - who knew ? :)
I had a hard time
growing the chapter members because asking them just to go to ISOC
website
and become a member was confusing. I found that creating a join page and
linking it to ISOC made the process simpler and also made it easier to
grow
our membership base.
I note that some chapters, such as Poland, still use their own sign up
form, and Puerto Rico don't mess around
they take you straight to paypal!!
Why shouldn't we not be allowed to have our own sign up form ? Do not
forget not everybody speaks English.
And one of the basic principles of a chapter is to address the local
community. So I would suggest chapters will always be allowed to offer
local sign up forms.
suggestion I would like to make is if the new web development team of
ISOC's website redesign could look into building an API for membership.
This
would make it simple for chapters to pass new members to ISOC.
I am sure this is already an ultimate aim of the AMS project. We must

And to be honest, the sign up form is not that sexy ... perhaps a
redesign of the sign-up page could be on the priority list...
