Good afternoon:<br>
<br>
We obviously have no objection to the US Chapters having their own
list. After all,  ISOC-ECC has its own list. However I agree fully with
Marcin Cieslak: since the FCC and the European Commission tend to
consult, and sometimes clone each other, it would be very important for
some of the European ISOC Chapters to be able to follow the US debate,
particluarly about matters such as broadband, non-discrimination and
IPR-related issues. I am very glad that the US list is open, and would
propse to join it myself. I am sure that I will not be alone ...<br>
<br>
Many thanks and regards to you all,<br>

At the meeting today it was decided that, rather than bore all global chapters
with inter-US discussions on local matters such as the current round of Broadband
Stimulus funding, a list should be formed for members of US chapters to
talk amongst themselves.

It is at <a class="moz-txt-link-rfc2396E" href="http://lists.isoc-ny.org/listinfo.cgi/isoc-us-isoc-ny.org"><http://lists.isoc-ny.org/listinfo.cgi/isoc-us-isoc-ny.org></a><a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://lists.isoc-ny.org/listinfo.cgi/isoc-us-isoc-ny.org">http://lists.isoc-ny.org/listinfo.cgi/isoc-us-isoc-ny.org</a>

Membership is by no means reserved to US members, others that are interested
in keeping track or participating are welcome to join.

I think we do not find those discussions boring - they are probably
relevant to the rest of the world. For example, many European countries
have decided to include "broadband" as part of their stimulus packages.

Don't know what others think, though.
