For the sake of clarity, it might be interesting for us to know what
"weight" the recommendations of the membership will have on the
drafting of the overall position of ISOC and who else, outside the
membership and ISOC will contribute. <br>
<br>
It may also be good to send draft documents to the chapter-delegates
list before the final version so we can suggest modifications and allow
the chapters to prepare answers to the questions of local policy makers
before they get the final documents.<br>
<br>
Finally, it will be useful to have translated versions (French and
Spanish to start with) at the same time as the original English one.
Local policy makers do not read papers they do not understand. <br>

a survey to all members on
Internet governance matters that is designed to get feedback from the
membership on priorities for the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in <st1:place
 w:st="on">Rio</st1:place> in November. We would greatly appreciate
your and
your Chapter member responses.  <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

the survey with a number of events
between now and November and would very much appreciate your thinking
as to how
we and the Chapters can best reach policymakers regionally and
nationally to
address the Internet governance issues of concern to them.  One idea
that
we are exploring (and we would appreciate your thoughts on) would be to
have an
“ISOC Internet Governance month” in which we could seek to create a
Chapter-wide set of activities comprising meetings with policymakers,
workshops
and outreach efforts within a specific time frame, with September being
a good
candidate time period.  <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
