Dear friends and colleagues,

First of all, thanks to all those who congratulated ISOC-CAT on ICANN's decision to establish the .CAT TLD last week. It is a tremendous boost to Catalan culture and the millions of speakers of our language!

As I am sure you know, the chapters of those of you who are based in Europe will very soon be asked to decide who will host the Legal Entity of the ISOC European Coordination Council (ISOC-ECC). http://www.isoc-ecc.org

As you will be able to see for yourselves, there are two candidatures, oddly enough both from this western corner of Europe: A Coruņa, in Galicia, and Barcelona, in Catalonia.

I am personally very glad that the ISOC-ECC office will, one way or another, be close by. Nevertheless, I cannot but invite you to read carefully through the Catalan Chapter's candidature, and to contact us if you need clarification of any particular point before you cast your vote. http://www.isoc-ecc.org/docs/CAT-Candidature.pdf (PDF).

Best wishes,

Miquel

Miquel Strubell-Trueta
Member of the board of ISOC Catalan Chapter
Barcelona
email: mstrubell@uoc.edu
Internet Society - Catalan Chapter
