As many of you may be aware, throughout 2008, the CSC (chapter steering
committee for the AMS-project) played an important role in identifying
and specifying Chapter requirements for a new ISOC membership system.
The CSC were part of the extensive and rigorous selection process that
was conducted to identify a suitable platform that met the needs of the
very different stakeholder groups: ISOC staff, Organization members,
Chapter delegates and Individual members. 

 

On behalf of the CSC and the AMS project team, we are pleased to
announce that Aptify Software Solutions has been chosen to provide ISOC
with its Association Management System .  The software will be the
central data holding and management platform for all data on chapters,
individual members, organizational members, events and grants. From the
start it provides improved management and communication among and
between all ISOC members and stakeholders. 

 

For Chapter officials Aptify will support:

*     Members joining ISOC through a Chapter;

*     Easy management of the memberships of your Chapter;

*     A customizable member experience that allows your members to
choose the language that best suits their needs and to manage their user
profiles;

*     And the platform enables us to develop and attach a broad range of
additional functionality and collaboration tools in later project
phases.

 

We're aiming to provide a single platform for all ISOC related business.
There are two aspects to this: ISOC members and Chapter delegates will
be able to conduct Chapter and membership organizational tasks and in
addition, they will be able to collaborate and work in an environment
that is focused on furthering the mission of ISOC through and by its
members, both at a local and global level.  To achieve the latter in
addition to the direct use of the Aptify system, the database and the
back end processing of Aptify will be used to provide a platform to
attach existing external tools and launch additional development
projects to enhance the experience for your members. 

 

Your thoughts and input will be crucial to building out this part of the
project.

 

2009 will be an exciting year for ISOC and its membership. The AMS
project team will continue to work closely with the CSC through the
implementation and development phases and we look forward to working
with you on this important project.
